REVIEWS

Ars Independent Festival about NATURAL ATTRACTION:

"If Godfrey Reggio and Ron Fricke made animations, they would probably look just as majestic. Marc Zimmerman’s film is a visualization of nature which pulls the viewer into computer generated mountain valleys and misted meadows. It’s pure experimentation with form and a tribute to nature." (Natalia Kaniak)

North Carolina Film Awards about NATURAL ATTRACTION:

"Stunning animation. I thought it was real to begin with. Just stunning. So well done. The music score was also so appropriate. No words. Just music score and animation. So well done! Great job animators and Director!" (Judge Anthony)

"Mesmerizing. The scenery and effects were extraordinary, I'm still not sure which parts were real (if any) and which weren't. The music was great and kept me at the moment. In this type of film, I often notice that the cinematography does not stand on it's own without the music, so I turned off the sound and watched it again. I liked it as much if not more. Nicely done." (Judge Ben)

"Visually stunning animation paired with a great score to provide a short story." (Judge David)

"Pure joy to watch this short - perfect length, spectacular images combined with superb music. Even the end credits were incredible." (Judge Fran)

"Incredible film. The visuals were beautiful and elegant, with or without the music present, but the music was powerful and majestic. I was surprised at the level of drama contained here, and awe-inspiring power that these forces of nature have to create destruction and create the environmental conditions that life can spring from. I have seen Discovery Channel programs that are not as good as the visuals in this film, and definitely not as dramatic. It goes the same with the music. The length of the film was just right. It felt as though there was always a new image coming in the next seconds that you didn't want to miss, and the music also kept you right in the moment with it. I don't know of a place on earth that has this exact environment it looked realistic enough to make me wonder where it was. This is an impressive work, both in showing the talent of the digital production artists and the filmmaker's sense of drama and vision." (Judge Jason)

"Beautiful animated piece about a volcanic eruption. Loved watching it." (Judge Lee)

"Beautifully done. Beautiful to look at and listen to. The visuals suggest the earth giving birth. Stunning animation." (Judge Yvonne)
